Día del Maestro

2020 DÍA DEL MAESTRO:

Congratulations to our educators for their dedication to the teaching profession! 2020 has been faced unprecedented challenges.

Back in 1982, CTA and AMAE collaborated to bring forth this recognition to our hardworking teachers. Every since then, we are proud to celebrate our educators.  As we face this time of uncertainty, our May 2020 celebration needs to be cancelled.   Teaching is taking a new role and we want you to know that you are recognized and respected for your hard work and dedication.  We look forward to the day we can come together and celebrate and look back on this time with relief.

We applaud CTA for their recognition to educators. http://www.cta.org

Every year educators are recognized for their hard work and dedication. Our members receive their Día del Maestro poster. This year’s theme “Meeting the Needs of all Dreamers.”

This year’s celebration was highlighted by our guest speaker, David G. García, Ph.D., Associate Professor Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. García, shared excerpts from his recently published book, Strategies of Segregation: Race, Residence, and the Struggle for Educational Equality https://www.ucpress.edu/book.php?isbn=9780520296879.
