Open to All Students in 6th, 7th & 8th Grades

AMAE is sponsoring the First Annual Ventura County Student Speech Competition “Honoring Latino/Indigenous Heroes” for all students in grades 6-8.  The purpose of this competition is to honor the lives, work and values of Latino and Indigenous heroes and leaders who have made an important impact in service to their community and humanity. This is an opportunity for students to reflect on how these contributions inspire and impact their own lives.  Students will be able to share their talents and skills publicly and be acknowledged by the community at large.

Each school district will submit one finalist representing each grade level, 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  These students will be invited to give their speech to a panel of judges who will select one winner for each grade level.

INFORMATION & REGISTRATION PACKETS HAVE BEEN DELIVERED TO VENTURA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS. BELOW IS OUR POWERPOINT WHICH DETAILS THE EVENT.

STUDENT PARTICIPANTS NEED TO REGISTER WITH THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICT. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.
